Covid cases rise in Bengal as two new test positive in South 24 Parganas

Concerns around covid-19 are resurfacing in West Bengal after two new positive cases were reported from the Magrahat area of South 24 Parganas district. The infected individuals include a 20-year-old girl from North Radhanagar Khopara and a teenager from Ishwarpur, both under Magrahat No. 2 block.

The duo had symptoms like breathing difficulty, cold, and cough, prompting their admission to Magrahat Rural Hospital. Doctors, suspecting covid infection, referred them to Diamond Harbor Hospital for testing. Their reports later confirmed covid positivity.

These two fresh cases have taken the total active covid count in Bengal to three, up from just one the previous day. Health department officials have confirmed that both patients are stable, under medical observation, and isolated for treatment.

So far, no serious symptoms have emerged, but the local administration has been put on alert. Monitoring of contacts and precautionary measures have been stepped up in the affected areas to prevent further spread.
